Job Vacancy: Accountant

Position TitleAccountant

Reports to: Financial Manager

Role Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for all accounting duties within Palestine Trade Center - PalTrade.

Job Settings

Location: Ramallah

Settings: Office Hours

Duration: 12 months with possibility of extension

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data entry of the daily transactions on the accounting software (BISAN),
  • Maintain proper filling for the account entries,
  • Reconcile Petty Cash transactions,
  • Review expenses supporting documents eligibility (Invoices, Contracts, Payments, Receipts)
  • Prepare checks and transfers with follow up with banks on its execution and documentation,
  • Prepare monthly bank and cash reconciliations,
  • Follow up closely on monthly payments and advances,
  • Works with external auditor on audit preparation, and in implementation of audit recommendations and findings, 
  • Comply with deadlines and reporting dates,
  • Ensure proper inventory control; supervise of proper issuance of inventory items and supplies. 
  • Prepare effective application of tracking system for asset management, procurement, and financial procedures.
  • Maintain a filing system for the partners’ documents and the daily accounting transactions
  • Assist administrative staff in communications with local external contacts (such as partners, banks, public administration offices and institutions, auditors and suppliers);
  • Assist in the management of assets and maintain continuous asset inventory periodically and upon request plus management of warehouse movement (in and out);
  • Participate in the financial management, follow-up of projects, and preparing support documents for projects.
  • Perform any other duties related as may be assigned;
  • Systematically update the cashbooks as well as the corresponding Excel spreadsheets.
  • Participate in procurement process if needed.
  • Compile and update employee records (hard and soft copies): preparing, collecting and scanning supporting documents related to local staff (i.e. collection of time sheets, annual leave, sick leave and any other relevant issue, and reports and follow up the coordination between Ramallah Office and sub offices);
  • Prepare payroll by providing relevant data (absences, bonus, leaves, Timesheets ,etc).



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounting role.
  • Experience using BISAN software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including advanced Excel
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • A solid understanding of accounting principles
  • Takes personal responsibility for delivery of results on time and to quality standards
