Palestine Trade Center-PalTrade Launches EU4Trade Project to Boost Palestinian Export Potential
Ramallah, February 26th – PalTrade has officially launched the EU4Trade: Unleashing Palestine Export Potential to the EU and International Markets project, a strategic 3,000,000 Euro initiative designed to enhance Palestinian exports and stimulate economic growth. Funded by the EU, the three-year project aims to Enhance the Performance of Palestine Trade Center- PalTrade and to Strengthen the Export-Oriented Capacity of Palestinian Small to Medium Enterprises (SME’s).
Empowering Palestinian Exporters, The EU4Trade project addresses key barriers to export growth by providing market intelligence, trade facilitation services, and capacity-building programs. By improving the competitiveness of Palestinian products, the initiative seeks to create jobs and promote long-term economic sustainability.
Mrs. Ruwa Jabr, CEO of Palestine Trade Center-PalTrade, emphasized the project’s significance: “The EU4Trade project is a transformative initiative for Palestinian exporters. By equipping SMEs with essential tools, knowledge, and market connections, we are fostering sustainable economic growth and deeper global market integration”.
The launch event was attended by H.E. Minister of National Economy, Eng. Mohammad Al-Amour; H.E. Minister of Industry, Mr. Arafat Asfour; and H.E. EU Ambassador, Mr. Alexandre Stutzmann, who reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Palestinian trade expansion and strengthening economic ties with the EU. H.E. Minister Al-Amour stated: “It embodies the depth of partnership and cooperation between the State of Palestine and the European Union, reflecting our shared commitment to supporting the Palestinian economy and enhancing the competitiveness of its private sector, which is a fundamental pillar in the journey of development and stability”, while H.E. Minister Asfour highlighted the role of industry in driving economic growth, commenting: “Supporting small and medium-sized industries and modernizing production lines with advanced technologies enhance production processes to meet international market demands. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of investing in industrial research and development, improving packaging processes, and implementing quality standards to increase the reliance on Palestinian products in regional and international markets, contributing to sustainable economic growth”. H.E. EU Ambassador Stutzmann stated: “Today's initiative represents an important step toward enhancing sustainable economic growth in Palestine and reevaluating key sectors with the potential to drive economic development and, most importantly, create job opportunities. As all participants emphasized, trade is at the heart of this effort”.
The initiative aligns with broader efforts to enhance Palestine-EU trade relations, fostering a more competitive and resilient export sector.
